Is Termsoup a machine translation?

No, Termsoup is not a machine translation (MT). Termsoup is a computer-assisted translation (CAT) software that assists human translators to do their work better. It does not generate translations automatically for you. But we offer MT for paid users’ reference. You can decide whether or not to use it.

If automatic translation, aka machine translation, is what you need, you can visit Google Translate and use it for free.
If Google Translate is not good enough for you, then you'll have to translate on your own, or pay for a qualified translator to translate for you.

Must I have a soft copy of the original text before using Termsoup?

Yes. And if the soft copy is:

- A text PDF file, you should convert it to Word before uploading it to Termsoup.
- A scanned PDF file, you should process it with optical character recognition (OCR) software.
